The Weekend Major is a tool for running a private golf trip. This page explains, in plain language, what the app stores and what we do with it. It is written by the people building the product, not by lawyers, and it will get more precise as the beta progresses.

Trip details you enter: trip name, destination, dates, courses, rounds, tee times and schedule entries.

Group details you enter: golfer names or nicknames, trip handicaps, teams, scores, side games, money arrangements, awards and any photos you upload.

Optional organizer email, if you choose to give one. It is used for account recovery and to contact you about your trip.

A hashed version of your organizer PIN and recovery key. We never store either in readable form and cannot show them back to you.

Basic product events — that a trip was created, a setup step was finished, a trip was launched, or that somebody opened a trip. These tell us where organizers get stuck. They do not contain PINs, recovery keys or scores.

Solely to run the product: to show your group its leaderboard, to protect organizer controls, and to improve the setup experience during beta. We do not sell personal data and we do not run advertising or tracking pixels inside the app.

Anyone holding your six-character trip code can open the trip and see the group's names, handicaps, scores and standings. Treat the code the way you'd treat a group chat invite. Organizer controls are protected separately by your PIN.

Trips that have not been launched yet are only visible to the organizer.

The app runs on third-party hosting and database infrastructure. Your trip data is stored there on our behalf and is not shared with anyone else.

We keep trip data while the trip is in use. If you want a trip and everything in it deleted, email support@theweekendmajor.com from the organizer address or include the trip code, and we'll remove it.

The app is intended for adults organising golf trips. Please don't create accounts or enter data for children.

The product is in free beta and this page will change as features change. Material changes will be noted on the beta page.
